About Me
I am a student midwife enrolled in the National Midwifery Institute and an apprentice midwife with Beah Haber, CNM and Nancy Myrick, CNM. I believe that every laboring woman needs and deserves unconditional support throughout the transformative process of giving birth and becoming a mother. Newly expanded families benefit from the same level of care in the early postpartum period. I am a DONA certified doula and offer birth & postpartum doula services and childbirth education to expecting and new parents in the SF Bay Area. I have attended over 160 births at homes, birth centers and hospitals in San Francisco and the surrounding area.

I maintain memberships with the San Francisco Doula Group, DONA, Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association, and The California Association of Midwives.
My formal training is through DONA, Lamaze International, Natural Resources, the National Midwifery Institute, Elizabeth Davis’ Hearts and Hands Midwifery program and The Farm Midwifery Clinic.
My training for labor support includes:
- Acupressure & reflexology
- Hypnobirthing & guided relaxation
- Homeopathy
- Aromatherapy
- Massage, (I am trained in Swedish Massage and Labor Massage)
- Positions to encourage progress and relieve pain
- Use of labor tools such as a birth ball, rebozo, etc.
- Water therapy and the application of heat and/or cold
Witnessing the birth of my sister-in-law’s twins in 2002 inspired me to pursue this career. That experience solidified for me the significant need for an objective, intuitive, and compassionate birth attendant. I learn something new at each birth and find myself profoundly moved by the strength and wisdom I regularly see from women and their partners. I can't imagine doing anything more rewarding than this work!
In addition to my private doula and childbirth education practice, I am a volunteer doula at Kaiser San Francisco for teen mothers.
