Private Midwifery Care for Families Birthing in the Hospital

We will customize a prenatal visit schedule for you based on your gestational age and topics of interests.

Are you looking for a comprehensive midwifery care experience?

My “Call the midwife! Pregnancy & Postpartum Midwifery Package” Includes private midwifery visits and one private lactation consultant visit with an IBCLC in the comfort of your home! This service includes phone, text and email support throughout your pregnancy, labor and the postpartum. It is not a replacement for the care you receive from your hospital provider but an extra layer of individualized, holistic, evidence-based care that allows you to get all your questions answered.

My prenatal visits last 60-90 minutes and include a pregnancy assessment (blood pressure, pulse, general health and wellbeing, nutrition and lifestyle) and assessing  your baby’s wellbeing (monitoring baby’s heart rate, growth & position) as well as deep dives into the topics of your choice including but not limited to; nutrition, supplements, testing options, lab results, GBS, birth plans, baby’s position, preparing for labor, preparing for the postpartum.

My postpartum visits last anywhere from 60-120 minutes. I typically see my families three times in their first week home from the hospital and then again at two, four and six weeks. During our postpartum visits I monitor your postpartum physical and emotional adjustment and recovery, assess your vital signs and evaluate labs as needed, I monitor your baby’s growth over time, assist in developing your baby’s feeding plan (including breastfeeding, chest feeding and/or bottle-feeding), evaluate your baby’s general health and vital signs. In addition to the lactation support I provide, one in home lactation consult with an IBCLC is included in this midwifery package.

If you have a PPO insurance plan you may be able to get reimbursement from your insurance for your midwifery care. Income based sliding scales and payments plans are available. Midwifery fees are also HSA and FSA eligible. I am happy to provide records for you, your pediatrician or hospital-based providers.

What former clients have to say…

“Michelle's model of care provided exactly what I needed to balance out the quick, often sterile appointments at the hospital where I never felt I had enough time to get all my questions answered. Navigating the obstetric model of care with a pregnancy labeled high-risk by default felt very overwhelming, but having Michelle right by my side to provide holistic care in the comfort of my own home, to help me make sense of lab results, validate any concerns and provide me with the latest research to help me arrive at well-informed decisions throughout the entire pregnancy allowed me to move through every stage of pregnancy with confidence, strength and peace of mind.”

"Pregnancy and birth is such a transformative experience. Like going through a doorway where you don't quite know what will be on the other side. I was so blessed to have Michelle by my side through this journey. She let me lead, but it was her support that made me feel I knew the way.

Her advice, encouragement, emotional support (and bag-of-tricks too!) offered throughout the pregnancy helped me manage my pregnancy with as few medical interventions as possible. Her knowledge and experience helped my husband and I successfully communicate with medical professionals so I could have the natural birth I wanted to have in the hospital. Michelle's presence made me feel that even if things didn't turn out the way I hoped everything would be ok. As it turns out, I had a great big baby naturally and had an amazing experience overall."
